Dear Parents and Friends:
We had a thrill spring semester at our Hope School of Music. Just to name some of the high lights and what are our students have achieved:
We have held master classes that greatly improved the student’s confidences, experiences of perform and increase their practice effort.
We had a wonderful semiannual recital in June, showcased the improvements of the students.
We have the free Big Brother, Sister Tutor for practice program that helped and assist the students in home practice, solved the parents and the students’ headaches of not want to practice issue.
We have the biggest violin ensemble in San Diego performed in ACCEF Chinese New Year Concert, we rocked the concert.
We have a community outreach that we had a song/band performance at Easter Holiday at BOL church.
We have music theory classes that unique than others because we not only teach theory but we add the ear training, sight singing and the stories, histories and background of music. We apply them into the real playing so the kids can understand it in a practical way (why, how the music come from)but not just the knowledge.
We have 3 new prestigious teachers join our faculty: Mr. Greg Eden, professor of guitar at Creighton University, graduated from Peabody Conservatory of Music. Ms. Miho Gary, Piano, graduated from San Francisco Conservatory. Ms Hiroko Yoshinawa, Vocal, graduated from San Francisco Conservatory of Music. They are all from the top 10 US conservatories.
