Professor Christopher E. Klich
Professor Christopher E. Klich is an expert of Brass & Woodwinds instrument and the winner of San Diego Union-Tribune awarded Best Jazz Band in 2002. Mr Klich also got the San Diego Music Awards in 1991. He have tought Over 2000 students total during teaching tenure. He is an adjunct professor at Grossmont College from August 2006 to 2016.
Mr Klich was College Small Jazz Ensemble Director from 2002 to 2004 and the director of SDSU Jazz Saxophone Combo and SDSU Combo III. Assistant Director of UCSD Jazz Ensemble – 1981-1983. Mr. Klich was an assistant Band Director, Solana Beach Public School District – 1986- 1990. He is personal instructor to students in all woodwinds and brass instruments from 1983- present. Chris Klich plays the Jazz Quintet from 1998 to present.
Dr Julia Barnett
Admired for her rich tone and fluid technique throughout the instrument’s range, flutist Dr. Julia Barnett is an active performer and teacher in Southern California. She completed her Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in flute performance at the University of California at Los Angeles, where she studied with Sheridon Stokes. For her Master of Music, Dr. Barnett studied with Christina Jennings at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and attended Rice University for her Bachelors Degree under the tutelage of Leone Buyse.
As a soloist she has performed with the San Diego Symphony, San Diego Chamber Orchestra, and the UCLA Symphony. She has performed with chamber ensembles such as the LA Grand Ensemble, Spirati Woodwind Quintet, and is a member of the Coastal Winds, Les Flutes des Salon flute quartet, and Duo Flautas Frescas. Her orchestral ensemble work has included the LA Dream Orchestra, the La Grange Symphony, and she is currently a member of the Midland/Odessa Symphony and Chorale as well as the Billings Symphony. In addition to her performing career, Dr. Barnett enjoys directing the Avanti Flute Choir, a performing flute choir composed of amateur through professional musicians.
